Vitamin C is an essential nutrient for the body: it promotes its normal physiological functions and the normal function of the immune system; it also carries out an antioxidant activity that helps protect cells from oxidative stress; promotes greater absorption of iron and is therefore useful in certain physiological situations, such as pregnancy and breastfeeding; finally it also contributes to the normal formation of collagen, an important protein for the natural functionality of bones, cartilage, skin, blood vessels, gums and teeth.
