Dentinal sensitivity is the annoying or painful sensation that is perceived when the dentin, one of the most sensitive parts of the tooth, is discovered, allowing external stimuli to reach the nerve endings located in the pulp of the tooth. The causes of the appearance of dentinal sensitivity can be many: gingival regression, post-operative trauma, but also persistent brushing with abrasive toothpastes or very hard toothbrushes.
