Therapeutic indications

Disinfection and cleaning of the skin in case of small superficial lesions.

Dosage and method of use

Dosage : Apply a small amount of product on the area to be treated. If necessary, repeat the operation 2-3 times a day. Do not exceed the recommended number of applications per day. Method of administration : Topical use. Apply the solution on the area to be treated by touching, wrapping or washing.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1 Thyroid disorders. Pregnancy and lactation (see section 4.6).

Side effects

It is possible the occurrence of intolerance (burning or irritation) that does not require modification of the treatment. The reaction of iodine with injured tissues can delay healing. Application on extensive burns or abrasions can produce the systemic effects of iodine. It can interfere with thyroid functioning tests. Reporting of suspected adverse reactions . Reporting of suspected adverse reactions that occur after authorization of the medicine is important, as it allows continuous monitoring of the benefit / risk ratio of the medicine. Healthcare professionals are asked to report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system listed at www.aifa.gov.it/content/segnalazioni-reazioni-avverse.

Special warnings

The product is for topical use only. Do not use for prolonged treatments, in the absence of clinical evaluation (see section 4.8). The use, especially if prolonged, of products for topical use can give rise to sensitization phenomena; in this case it is necessary to stop the treatment and carry out a medical evaluation. The accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences. Avoid use on large surfaces. Do not apply with occlusive dressing. Avoid contact with eyes. To remove any stains on fabrics, just use water; avoid using soap.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Iodine is absorbed systemically especially in the case of ulcers. Absorbed iodine can cross the placental barrier and be excreted in milk, therefore the use of Fertomcidina "U" is contraindicated in pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

Expiry and retention

Store in tightly closed containers, protected from light and heat.

Interactions with other drugs

Avoid simultaneous use with any other product and in particular creams or gels. Do not use under gutta-percha or other impermeable substances. Do not apply mercury salts or benzoin compounds to the treated area at the same time.

Overdose

There are no known cases of overdose with Fertomcidina “U”.

Active principles

100 ml of solution contain: Active ingredients: salicylic acid 1.75 g, sodium iodide 3 g. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.

Excipients

Ammonium bromide, dibasic magnesium phosphate, purified water.
