Therapeutic indications
Disinfection of skin not severely injured (superficial small wounds, abrasions). Disinfection of the external genitalia.
Dosage and method of use
For the disinfection of skin not severely damaged, apply the solution, without diluting it, directly or with a cotton swab. For the disinfection of the external genitalia, dilute 1 tablespoon of product in 1 liter of water. Repeat the operation 2-3 times a day if necessary, without exceeding the recommended dose.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1.
Side effects
The occurrence of intolerance (burning or irritation) that does not require modification of the treatment is possible. The product is toxic when applied to the ear and tends to damage the corneal epithelial membrane. Reporting of suspected adverse reactions Reporting of suspected adverse reactions that occur after authorization of the medicinal product is important, as it allows continuous monitoring of the benefit / risk ratio of the medicinal product. Special warnings
The product is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, brain, meninges and middle ear and use on severely damaged skin. The product should not be used for prolonged treatments: after a short period of treatment without appreciable results, medical evaluation is required. The use, especially if prolonged, of products for topical use can also give rise to sensitization phenomena, in which case it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and carry out a clinical evaluation. The accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal consequences. Exposure to ultraviolet rays (sun or artificial sources) after application of the product should be avoided. Important information about some of the excipients Disintyl contains lemon essence which in turn contains citral, d-limonene and hydroxycitronellal. Citral, d-limonene and hydroxytronellal can cause allergic reactions.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The product should be used during pregnancy and lactation only after medical evaluation.
Expiration and retention
Store in a tightly closed container away from light.
Interactions with other drugs
The product is inactivated by anionic detergents (such as the most common soaps). Simultaneous use of other antiseptics and detergents should be avoided.
Overdose
No damage from overdose has been reported under normal conditions of use. Accidental ingestion can cause nausea and vomiting. Symptoms of intoxication resulting from the ingestion of significant quantities of quaternary ammonium compounds include dyspnoea, cyanosis, asphyxia, resulting from paralysis of the respiratory muscles, CNS depression, hypotension and coma. In humans, the lethal dose is approximately 1 - 3 g. Treatment of poisoning is symptomatic: administer soothing agents if necessary. Avoid emesis and gastric lavage.
Active principles
