Therapeutic indications

Constipation.

Dosage and method of use

Coated tablets : 1-2 coated tablets daily before main meals. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Syrup : Adults: one teaspoon diluted in water before each of the two main meals. Children: the dose is only one teaspoon a day, before the evening meal. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the product. Mechanical obstruction of the biliary tract. Acute and chronic liver diseases. Gallstones. Hepatic insufficiency.

Side effects

In particularly sensitive subjects, abdominal pain may arise which usually disappear with the reduction of the dosage.

Special warnings

The continued use of laxatives can cause addiction or damage of various kinds. Do not use laxatives if abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting are present. If constipation is persistent, consult your doctor. The product in particular the syrup contains sucrose; this is taken into account in the case of diabetes or low-calorie diets. Warnings : Do not use for prolonged treatments. After a short period of treatment, without noticeable results, consult your doctor. Keep out of reach of children. Validity of the preparation: be careful not to use the preparation beyond the expiration date indicated on the package. A slight precipitate at the bottom of the bottle is due to plant extracts and does not indicate any alteration of the product.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy, the product should be taken in cases of actual need under the direct supervision of the doctor while its use during breastfeeding is not recommended because anthraquinones are partly excreted with breast milk giving it purgative properties.

Expiry and retention

They are not necessary.

Interactions with other drugs

They are not known.

Overdose

There are no known toxic symptoms of overdose.

Syrup : 100 ml of syrup contain: Active ingredients: Cascara sagrada fluid extract g 14.5; Boldo fluid extract g 4.5; Chinese rhubarb fluid extract g 2.5. Coated tablets : Active ingredients: Cascara sagrada dry extract mg 70, Boldoa fragrans dry extract mg 20, Chinese rhubarb dry extract mg 10.

Excipients

Syrup : Glycerin, methyl-p-hydroxybenzoate, 96 ^ ethyl alcohol, Sucrose, vanilla tincture, orange tincture, GM bitters, purified water. Coated tablets : Precipitated silica, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, color E 124, ethylcellulose, glycerin, gum arabic, shellac, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc.
