Therapeutic indications
Inflammations and small skin infections. Furunculosis (pimples), abscesses, and superficial skin ulcerations. Inflammation of the sweat glands (hidradenitis).
Dosage and method of use
Apply the ointment, in the quantity necessary in relation to the part to be treated, 2-3 times a day, covering with a gauze.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Side effects
The undesirable effects of ictammol are listed below, organized by MedDRA system organ classification: There is insufficient data to establish the frequency of the individual effects listed. Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Dermatitis, Burns, Skin irritations, Hypersensitivity reactions. Reporting of suspected adverse reactions. Reporting of suspected adverse reactions that occur after authorization of the medicine is important, as it allows continuous monitoring of the benefit / risk ratio of the medicine. Healthcare professionals are asked to report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system at: www.aifa.gov.it/content/segnalazioni-reazioni-avverse.
Special warnings
Do not apply near the eyes and on mucous membranes. Avoid exposure to the sun and UVA rays after application. The use, especially if prolonged, of medicinal products for local use can give rise to phenornenes of irritation or sensitization. If this occurs, discontinue treatment. Important information about some of the excipients: not known.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
In the absence of specific studies, the medicine should be used during pregnancy and lactation only in case of need and under direct medical supervision.
Expiration and retention
Keep the container tightly closed in the original package.
Interactions with other drugs
No specific interaction studies have been performed.
Overdose
If used in excessive quantities it can be irritating to the skin and mucous membranes.

100 g of ointment contain: Active ingredient: ammonium sulphoichthyolate 1O g. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.
