CE medical device. Self-adhesive occluder used in orthotic therapies of amblyopia and strabismus.
• Glue: hypoallergenic adhesive with no natural rubber latex and no solvents suitable for the particularly delicate and sensitive skin of children. The detachment is comfortable and avoids trauma even in cases of prolonged use.
• Support in 100% colored cotton non-woven fabric that allows skin transpiration, avoids the problem of perspiration and offers high comfort. The shape of the occluder adapts optimally to the anatomy of the periocular area.
• Central pad made of a very thin trilaminate material inside which there is a black photo-absorbing screen that prevents the filtering of light from the outside.
• Shape: the shape of the patch is elongated in the area of adhesion to the nasal saddle and allows the correct portability of the glasses at the same time as the occluder. The glasses are well aligned, avoiding out of focus and discomfort for the patient. The elongated shape of the patch avoids lateral filtration of light. This attribute of ORTOPAD prevents abnormal movement of the eye muscles which can lead to worsening of the disease. The incisions in the area of adhesion to the nasal septum effectively prevent the formation of wrinkles on the patch which could lead to premature detachment of the occluder and a reduction in comfort during orthoptic therapy.
