Description
Ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its muco-mimetic and pseudo-plastic properties, is uniformly distributed on the ocular surface forming a protective viscoelastic bandage. In this way, by carrying out a mechanical action ("barrier effect"), Idroflog stabilizes the tear film and reduces the friction caused by eye movements and blinking, protects the surface of the eye favoring the repair processes resulting from the suffering of cells of the corneal epithelium due to a hyposecretion of the tear film. In fact, in cases in which the glands responsible for the secretion of the film reduce their normal activity due to various factors, the corneal surface remains more exposed to external insults. Over time, the latter cause malfunctioning of the corneal epithelial cells with the associated risk of the onset of annoying inflammatory processes. The application of the Idroflog bandage protects the corneal surface from exposure to external insults and, thanks to the ancillary action of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate (low dose cortisone agent, low anti-inflammatory power and short duration of action), contributes to prevent the risk of any recurrence of inflammatory phenomena. Idroflog foresees a limited use in time and in any case under direct control of the specialist doctor. Finally Idroflog, thanks to its particular saline composition, restores and maintains the concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the ocular surface, at physiological levels. The device does not contain preservatives.

Composition
Sodium hyaluronate 2 mg / ml, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 10 mcg / ml, trisodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate, water for injections.

How to use
Idroflog must be dosed individually according to your condition and according to the recommendations of your ophthalmologist. In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months but must be specifically established by the specialist doctor and in any case under his direct control (a follow-up every 30-45 days is recommended).
How to apply: Detach a single vial from the strip. Remove the upper flap by rotating it. Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac, dropping from above. Idroflog can also be used when wearing contact lenses.

Warnings
Due to its viscoelastic properties, the product could cause blurred vision at the time of installation. Wait for this effect to stop before driving or using machines.
Idroflog is for external use only. It should not be used immediately before the administration of medicinal products for curative purposes, and in the twenty minutes after the application of any topical drug therapy. If symptoms worsen during treatment, contact a doctor as soon as possible. Prolonged use can give rise to inconveniences: the total duration of treatment must be established by the ophthalmologist. In the event that an inflammatory process is already underway, the specialist doctor will decide on the appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy in order to restore the physiological conditions of the ocular surface. To reduce the risk of contamination during use, the foil pouch should only be opened if the product is used immediately afterwards. Do not allow the tip of the vial to come into direct contact with the fingers, the eye, or any other surface. In rare cases, a slight blurring of vision has been observed upon instillation, which is due to the viscosity of the solution. A slight burning may occur during instillation. This feeling, however, is destined to disappear. Contact your ophthalmologist if symptoms persist. Compliance with the instructions contained in the package leaflet reduces the risk of undesirable effects. The product is for single use only: after the first use discard the vial even if it contains any residual solution.
