Therapeutic indications
Treatment of fungal skin infections, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis and parasitic skin diseases (scabies).
Dosage and method of use
Adults and adolescents, children over 3 years of age Apply the ointment, in the quantity necessary in relation to the part to be treated, 2 - 3 times a day. For the treatment of scabies, after applying the ointment it is necessary to vigorously rub the area to be treated; in addition, the ointment must be left in contact with the skin for at least 24 hours without washing. The treatment must continue for at least 3 consecutive days.
Contraindications
• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients; • extensive skin lesions; • children under 3 years of age.
Side effects
The following are the side effects of Sulfur and Potassium Carbonate, organized according to the MedDRA System Organ Class. Insufficient data are available to establish the frequency of the individual effects listed. Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders Irritation of the skin and mucous membranes, peeling, dermatitis, burning, itching, erythema.
Special warnings
External use. Avoid contact with mouth, eyes, genitals and other mucous membranes. The use, especially if prolonged, of medicines for local use can give rise to phenomena of irritation or sensitization. In this case, treatment must be stopped and appropriate therapy instituted.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
In the absence of specific studies, the medicine should be used during pregnancy and lactation only in case of need and under direct medical supervision.
Expiry and retention
Do not store above 30 ° C. Keep the container tightly closed in the original package.
Interactions with other drugs
No specific interaction studies have been conducted.
Overdose
There are no known cases of overdose. If used in excessive quantities it can be irritating to the skin and mucous membranes. Deaths have been reported as a result of accidental ingestion of sulfur and potassium carbonate by children.
