Indications

The secretion of prolactin by cabergoline results in a rapid resolution of the clinical manifestations of pseudo-pregnancy (lactation and abnormal behavior). Suppression of lactation in the bitch and the cat: the suppression of the milk supply in the bitch and the cat may be necessary if the puppies are weaned early or after the removal of the litter immediately after delivery. Inhibition of prolactin release leads to a rapid cessation of lactation and a consequent reduction in breast volume. Stopping milk secretion can prevent breast complications (mastitis). As an adjuvant in the therapy of eclampsia and mastitis with milk secretion in place in the bitch and the cat.

Dosage

It can be administered orally directly into the mouth or mixed with food. Bitches: 0.1 ml / kg bw (equal to 5 mcg / kg bw) once a day for 4 - 6 days depending on the severity of the clinical picture. Cats: 0.5 - 1.0 ml / animal once a day for 4 - 6 days depending on the severity of the clinical picture. Should relapse phenomena occur, subjects can be retreated in accordance with the previously indicated methods of use. Use the dispenser provided in the package.

Warnings

It should be administered with caution in subjects with severe cardiovascular disease, liver disease, renal insufficiency, peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
Special precautions for use in animals: Before administration, it must be ensured that no pregnancy is present.
