Therapeutic indications
Indicated to lubricate and protect the eye in the presence of dry eyes.
Dosage and method of use
Apply a small amount of Lacrilube in the eye one or more times a day.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to lanolin alcohols or to any of the excipients.
Side effects
No adverse events were reported in clinical trials. All adverse events listed below have been reported during post-marketing surveillance. The frequency of these reactions is considered unknown (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data). Within each frequency group, undesirable effects are presented in descending order of severity: Eye disorders: eye pain (including stinging sensation), eye irritation (including burning sensation), eye allergy, blurring of the eye vision, eye swelling, eye inflammation, eyelid edema, eye itching, eye excretion, foreign body sensation, ocular / conjunctival hyperaemia, eyelid erythema, lacrimation increased. Immune system disorders: hypersensitivity.
Special warnings
The product is for external use only; the prolonged use of products for topical use can give rise to sensitization phenomena, in this case stop the treatment and consult your doctor. As Lacrilube is a sterile preparation, avoid that the tip of the tube comes into contact with any surface. If irritation, pain, redness and vision changes occur, treatment should be stopped and a doctor consulted. Contact lenses should not be worn while using the product. The lenses can be re-applied after an interval of at least 30 minutes after applying the ointment. In case of concomitant topical eye dressing, there should be an interval of 5 minutes between the two dressings. Lacrilube should always be applied as the last treatment. Precautions for use: • wash your hands • lower the lower eyelid to form a small bag in which to apply the product • hold the head slightly back • hold the tube of the product between thumb and forefinger and apply a small amount in the bag previously formed • close your eyes, turning them from right to left and vice versa to facilitate the distribution of the product. To avoid eye damage, do not allow the tip of the tube to come into contact with the eye while applying the product.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy No effects are expected during pregnancy as there is no systemic exposure of pregnant women to the pharmacologically active substance. Breastfeeding No effects on the suckling child are expected as there is no systemic exposure of lactating women to the pharmacologically active substance. Fertility There are no known implications following the use of Lacrilube.
Expiration and retention
No special storage precautions.
Interactions with other drugs
No interactions with other medicaments were observed. Since the constituents of the product have a well established use, no interactions are expected.
Overdose
Accidental ocular topical overdoses of Lacrilube do not pose any risk. apart from a potential transient blurring of vision.
